A new way of looking at minimalism

The new phrase for spring 2011 is "maximizing the minimal". Jil Sander was phenomenal. The 2011 S/S colletion is why Jil Sander has a cult following. When asked about the direction of this collection Simons said that he wanted to achieved a new way of looking at minimalism and luxury. Like myself, Raf is was tired of seeing every girl in the same old cocktail dress or bold shoulder blazer looks. Simons finds it more alluring to see a girl in a basic t shirt and a couture looking skirt or pant. And with the first exit of the show I am sure that everyone will be on board with Raf. The buzz words for Sander was color and volume and I mean VOLUME. Some of the pants at Sander were cut wide giving them a couture feel which I loved. Simons continued the same color story of pink, blue, green, yellow and orange as his men's label Raf Simons. In my opinon the best part of the collection were the color combos. Lastly how chic is are the plastic looking shopping bags. The perfect example of Simon new way to approach luxury.
