Grey Gardens

Edith "Big Edie" Ewing Bouvier Beale and Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, the aunt and first cousin to style icon Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis were the subject of a 1972 documentary titled "Grey Gardens" which went on to become a cult classic. The movie takes place inside the Beale's 23 room mansion in the elite Georgica Pond neighborhood of East Hampton, New York. Now, I'd never heard of the Beale women before until watching the trailer for the upcoming HBO movie based on them this weekend. I can not wait to watch the movie and learn their story and see how they fell from grace. But, until I get to watch the movie I wanted to know more about the women of Grey Gardens! Little Edie in particular. After watching the trailer and clips from the 1972 documentary about ten times I found Little Eddie crazy yes, but also very stylish! I must confess, I am totally in love with her. Of course, The Arnold knew I would be. I love everything about her. I find her fascinating. (don't you ?) I loved all the looks little Edie wore through out the movie. It was very avant garde/ bag lady haute couture. The first thing that came to mind was that's such a McQueen or Galliano look with the shaved eyebrows and head wraps. I loved it so much! I want everyone, all of my readers to watch the sad but wonderful story of the women of "Grey Gardens" April 18th on HBO.

I LOVE this clip.

In case you haven't heard...

Super auction house Sotheby's is selling the contents of the late Gianni Versace's Villa on Lake Cuomo. Versace's taste in decor and art are not for the faint of heart and it was definitely a personal collection of pieces, so we'll see if it rivals Yves St. Laurent's now legendary auction in Paris last month. Personally, I'll take villa itself. Please and Thank you.

Since it's coldish here in Philadelphia(even though it's Spring now), today's image is a simple one of ladies in their furs. Effortless glamour from a time when one didn't worry about being P.C.

Hear them Roar

YSL Babylone Moccasin $570
As you could tell from my limited coverage of the Fall 09 collections, everyone, including myself, is all about the animal print. And who says women have to have all the fun? If you look through the files you'll find the Leopard print Prada sneakers I posted a while ago. And these YSL jungle inspired Mocs are my latest love. Careful though. At $570 they definitely bite. And as with many prints, gentlemen, wear with caution.

Kim K Superstar

Let's face it. T.V isn't much today. All we have are shitty "reality" shows. And while the market is over saturated with these stupid and fake shows, Keeping Up with The Kardashian's always makes the boy happy. The show was built on the demi fame of Kim Kardashian. Kim is a classic celebutante, which basically means she's famous for nothing in particular. She and her sisters are daughters of privilege from L.A. She grew up with and was B.F.F's with Paris Hilton and she dated Ray-J,(who barely qualifies as a celebrity himself.) I just love her! Kim is beautiful and truly glamorous. Now she's not usually the kind of girl I go for(I like East Coast ladies) and even though she got a bad rep from a released sex tape, she really seems down to earth and just nice. And we all love a nice girl who can easily give you sex kitten. Anyway, tonight's episode showed Kim dropping almost $20,000 in one store during a shopping spree. When her family challenged her to go to Bloomigdale's and not shop, she stormed out and they found her later in the fitting room in outfits she had snuck in. Now that's my kind of bitch! Kim's curves were made to be hugged by Dolce & Gabbana, Herve Leger, and Roberto Cavalli and it comes with a price. I mean she never steps out looking less than gorgeous and of course GLAMOROUS!
P.S Kim and her sister Kourtney have the BEST hair in T.V!

I have to confess something

Hey guys. I have to confess my dirty, dark little secret that I have been hiding for some time now. I am a bleachaholic. After getting my braces off in September I have been using Crest whitestrips like every month. Now I wanted to get the zoom whitening treatment, but it is six hundred dollars and that's a bit too high for me. And I prefer to spend forty dollars for the white strips than six hundred for something that does the same job. Not to mention I can spend the money I save on clothes lol.

This spring/summer I want to keep it easy and simple. Here are some short looks that I like. I am going to pair these with a fitted white t shirt and my brown Tom Ford hawking sunglasses and I ready for any occasion. Now I also am smitten with the cropped pant Thom browne is known for so look out for that post shortly.
